Since the early 1970s, there has been a growing concern spreading across our nation. This concern stems from the illegal possession of, as well the heinous crimes, addiction, and even death resulting from Flunitrazepan (Rohypnol), GHB (gramma-hydroxy butrate), and Ketcimine. These drugs are having a devastating effect on the lives of young men and women in our colleges and universities, and it is now unfortunately reaching into our elementary and high schools. Flunitrazepan (Rohypnol), GHB (gramma-hydroxy butrate), and Ketcimine in the past ten years have also become the new weapon of choice for sexual predators. Since these drugs surfaced on the streets, there has been an increasing number of drug-facilitated rapes in the U.S. creating an urgent need for public awareness, education, and legislation.
GHB, Rohypnol, and Ketcimine are white tablet, scored on one side and having an encircled number one or two on the other side. Those numbers indicate the amount of the dose. A number one represents 1 gram, and a number two represents 2 grams. (1) The packaging of these drugs can vary. Some are sold loosely while others can be purchased in bulk.
These drugs are better known by their street names: Rohypnol is called rookie, roofenal, forget pill, roche, Mexican Valium, R2... (1); GHB is referred to as liquid ecstasy, scoop, liquid X, home boy and G;... and Ketcimine as special K, vitamin K, and Kit Kat... (3). A more common used name by school-age children is
